Create a personal mission statement
Focus: Setting a solid purpose as the basis for creative living
A personal mission statement is the base layer of our foundation. Without a mission, we run the risk of stretching ourselves thin, wasting energy on fruitless labor, burning out quickly, and making a mess of meaningless end products.
However, with a solid mission in our corner, we are empowered to pursue the projects that align with our intentions while letting go of the those that don’t. For this reason, though we may have visions for our work as creatives, it is necessary to have a mission for ourselves as individuals.
Power Thought:
I am captain of my creative life.
Challenge: Create your personal mission statement
If you already have a mission statement, I encourage you to go through the worksheet below to ensure your mission is still true for you today. If it isn't, now's the time to revisit! But if it still applies, keep it close at hand. You're going to need it.
